The American Red Cross is currently seeking aSummer Intern within
the Training Services Department to support the Staffing and
e-Learning Team. This is a hybrid position.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Training Services Summer Internship Program offers
undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gain work
experience in a non-profit organization. During the 10-week
program, students receive training and develop their skills and
knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals. The 2024
Summer Internship program will run from May 29, 2024, through
August 2, 2024.
The Staffing and E-Learning Intern will be responsible for creating
a staffing dashboard and maintaining staffing reports in Power BI
for all departments of Training Services. The intern will also
assist with the coordination and communication processes of the
Summer Internship program, the publication of a monthly newsletter
and Learning and Development initiatives. The individual will
assist with the design and development of e-learning modules in
Articulate 360 e-learning software, transferring and updating
current content. The intern will also support the preparation of
digital learning aids such as instructional material, visual aids,
and videos.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
--- Collaborate in the implementation process of staffing dashboard
that measures Training Services staffing metrics providing key
insights through the analysis of data.
--- Assist the internship coordinator with the planning and
execution of the internship program engagement activities and
events.
--- Assist with staffing administrative tasks, such as maintaining
accuracy of staffing data.
--- Assisting with the creation of communication materials, such as
monthly newsletter, company-wide emails, and announcements.
--- Assist with the development of staffing reports and other
informational materials presented to business leaders across the
enterprise in better understanding workforce trends and the
impact.
--- Curate monthly Learning and Development articles for the
Training Services Newsletter.
--- Curate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion articles celebrating
awareness months.
--- Assist with building out the Training WebEx Calendar for FY25
Q1.
--- Assist with building and updating the E-Learning curriculum
using Articulate programs to support different departments.
--- Conduct unit-specific responsibilities.
--- Standard Schedule: Monday- Friday Standard business hours.
The salary range for this position is $20.00 an hour. Note that the
American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific
geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated
salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary
information will be shared at the time of phone screening based
upon your location and qualifications.
This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and
extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: High School or equivalent required. Internship is
typically part of an undergraduate program which requires some
university credit hours. Undergraduate Junior/Senior preferred.
--- Experience: Up to 1 year of related experience
--- Skills & Abilities:
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
--- Good interpersonal communication skills as needed to work
successfully with staff and managers within and outside of
function.
--- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to
work both independently and on cross functional teams.
--- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Power BI knowledge is a plus.
--- Ability to work on a team.
--- Travel: Ability to travel to attend in person meetings
10-20%.

occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and
ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of
moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and
printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to
work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer
terminal for an extended period of time.
