-Job SummaryThe Senior Tax Associate of Income Tax is responsible
for assisting with the preparation of the company's tax provision
and tax reporting process, as well as SOX compliance.
-Additionally, the Senior Tax Associate of Income Tax is
responsible for assisting with the preparation and filing of AUSA's
corporate and partnership income tax filings. -Other
responsibilities include maintaining various models for cash flow,
budget, and forecasting; research, planning, and implementing tax
savings strategies; and responding to federal, state, and local tax
audits and notices. -The position reports to the Manager of Income
Tax, -This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the Bethpage office.

-ResponsibilitiesTax Provision
- Assist with the preparation of AUSA's federal and state tax
provision, and all its related US GAAP tax accounting and reporting
responsibilities, including its SOX design, compliance, and
documentation;
- Assist with the preparation of tax related journal entries and
any related tax accounts;
- Calculation of the blended state tax rate and any related
schedules;
- Analyze and document FIN 48/ASC 740-10 reserves;
- Assist the income tax team to forecast cash taxes, and to
determine the impact of potential, and actual, company initiatives,
mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions (at the federal, state, and
local levels); -
- Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of
potential exposure;
- Research, analyze, write up, and communicate impacts of changes
in either accounting methods or other legislative or judicial
activity. -Income Tax Filings, Planning, and Controversy
- Assist with income tax compliance - organize, plan, coordinate,
and ensure preparation and timely filing of the company's corporate
and partnership income tax returns, extensions, estimates, and
amended returns;
- Research and keep updated of new and proposed federal, state,
and local tax law changes and filing requirements specific to our
industry and business; -
- Assist the team to plan, organize, coordinate, and model for
company initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions (at
the federal, state, and local levels);
- Resolve tax technical issues (legal and accounting) and draft
relevant memos;
- Assist with tax controversy and responding to tax notices
(federal, state, and local);
- Assist with documenting tax positions in the event of an
audit;
- Assist with Coordinating projects with outside vendors and
internal business units; -
- Assist with coordinating and reviewing various cost saving
strategies and analyses with both internal counsel and outside
consultants/specialists as neededQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- J.D. and/or CPA a plus
- Masters in Tax, Masters in Accounting, or LL.M. in Taxation a
plus
- 4+ years professional tax experience, focusing on federal and
state income tax provision preparation / review (ASC 740)
- Experience with federal consolidated returns, state returns,
and partnership returns
- Proficiency with tax provision software (OneSource Tax
Provision preferred)
- Audit/Controversy experience a plus -
- Experience in media/cable/entertainment industry a plus
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation
skills
- Ability to prioritize and act quickly with demonstrable
judgment
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities at once
and prioritize without jeopardizing deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment,
demonstrated "speed to market" skills, and nimble to change
