Job Description:

Thermal Engineer:Position requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and preferred a minimum of 3 years' experience in thermal design applications, aerospace or similar preferred. Graduate coursework will be considered in lieu of some industrial experience. High academic credentials and projects will also be considered in lieu of industry experience.The candidate will perform heater design for freeze protection and temperature control applications as follows:1)Design heat exchangers, air heaters, water line heaters, and customize heated parts2)Perform thermal analysis to determine required power3)Direct and coordinate prototype fabrication and instrumentation4)Conduct development tests on prototype parts, and performance verification tests on production representative parts5)Determine appropriate temperature control set points and over temperature protection limits to assure fail safe operation6)Predict pressure drops in air heater designs7)Design of heaters to required form factor and weight limits

• Candidate should be familiar with modern CAD and analysis tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) packages such as NASTRAN and ANSYS. Familiarity with temperature and airflow measurements techniques is also required. Knowledge in wind tunnel testing and aircraft in-flight icing are highly desirable, but not required.
