municipal and private clients in the tri-state region since 1889.
The firm provides comprehensive services in civil, structural,
traffic, landscape architecture, environmental, mechanical and
electrical engineering as well as construction services on projects
involving transportation infrastructure, structures, utilities,
electric power distribution, site development, general public
works, and construction inspection and administration.Job

variety of tasks associated with mechanical engineering, fire
protection and HVAC system design projects in the Long Island and
NYC area. LKB offers a flexible work environment and working hours
can vary.ResponsibilitiesPotential work tasks may include assisting
with and developing the following:
- Preparing wet and dry fire sprinkler system hydraulic
calculations
- Fire sprinkler pipe sizing and layouts using Revit MEP
- Preparing commercial heating and cooling load calculations
using energy modeling software
- Ductwork sizing and layout
- Hydronic, domestic water, DWV, and Fuel Gas system layout and
sizing
- Data collection and field measurements of existing field
conditionsQualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Masters Mechanical
Engineering a plus
- Some experience in the field preferred - new graduates are
welcome to apply
- EIT Certification preferred, though not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in
English
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,
etc.)
- Working knowledge or coursework in hydraulic calculation
software, such as Elite Fire, etc.
- Working knowledge or coursework in energy modeling software
such as Carrier's HAP, Elite CHVAC, Energy Pro, etc.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Revit MEP is a plus, but not
required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team -
