Procurement Manager - PrintPosition PurposeThe successful candidate will have an extensive understanding of book manufacturing and commercial printing and be well-versed in all aspects of prepress, offset, digital and web manufacturing. The candidate must be a self-motivated team player and possess a can-do attitude. He or she must be a creative problem solver with the ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.All candidates must have print specialization, with good knowledge of the printing business, with experience working at a printer, who can liaison between the printer and the editorial department.Duties and Responsibilities* Consult with Design & Production to create new formats / templates for packaging, promotional materials, books, etc.* Create and maintain specifications in the product database.* Work with Design, Production, Editorial & Marketing Departments to ensure the integrity of product specifications in the product database.* Manage all catalog and promotional printing, from RFP though to mail/delivery.* Manage file to printer process for all product - core, supplemental and promotional.* Communicate schedule requirements to Production and printers.* Using our in-house system, track file status and manage approvals.* Work closely with Production to review and approve lasers prior to the release of files to printers - ensure files comply with printer requirements, are consistent with the specs in the product database, and meet general quality criteria.* Manage reprint correction process.Job Requirements/Skills and Experience* Expertise in book manufacturing & commercial printing* Strong analytical abilities* Highly organized, demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy, and time-management* Proficient in Microsoft Office* Excellent communication skills* Print Industry experience and/or Educational Publishing experienceBenchmark Education Company offers competitive compensation; a casual, collegial work environment; and comprehensive benefits for regular, full-time employees.Benchmark Education Company values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
