Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the President and CEO, the Executive Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from daily operations and project management to administration (information technology, reporting, facilities), and human capital (HR/recruiting, mentoring, career progression). The Executive Director will assist the President and CEO to chart R.A.I.N.'s future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization's services. Commitment to agency's mission as a steward of service is critical.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Provide oversight and operational direction for organization's program and services.
  • Ensure organizational and programmatic compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure programs are meeting contractual performance standards and goals.
  • Develop and oversee quality assurance, internal program accountability practices and procedures and evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of client-centered practices and organizational standards of excellence across all programs and services.
  • Develop staff leadership in evidenced-based and emerging practice areas.
  • Provide support, supervision, and mentoring of assigned senior program management staff.
  • Provide leadership in fostering a culture of learning and on-going workforce development practices.
  • Provide leadership in fostering and reinforcing cultural competency across organizational areas.
  • Work with assigned management staff and Program Directors to identify and engage strategic partnerships and linkages to facilitate program goals.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations of assigned senior management staff and ensure compliance of annual performance evaluations for all employees.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including funding agencies, elected officials, community partners and older adults.
  • Lead and engage in the development and submission of RFPs for existing and new contracts/programs.
  • Work with the President and CEO in developing and expanding program initiatives and funding opportunities.
  • Work with the President and CEO to implement strategic plan goals.
  • Represent R.A.I.N. as directed by the President and CEO in industry related meetings and other venues
  • Work collaboratively with finance department to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Support the implementation of annual organizational budget and work with Finance Department to develop and monitor program budgets on performance metrics related to program deliverables.
  • Prepare reports for presentation at Board meetings.
  • Work with members of Board of Directors to facilitate organizational mission.
  • Maintain and honor confidentiality of the Executive Office.
  • Assume such other duties appropriate to the position as may be assigned.
    AGENCY BUILDING
    • Work cross-collaboratively with other members of the Senior and Executive Management team to provide a strong vision for the organization and to attain and maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and contractual deliverables.
    • Provide leadership in developing and overseeing organizational policies and procedures.
    • Assist President and CEO in essential internal leadership activities (human resources, administration, and organizational planning).
    • Assist in identifying best practices and improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.       • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university required. CSW and SIFI Certification preferred. Comparable degree will be considered.
      • Five or more years in a senior management position in a nonprofit organization, foundation, or government agency, and aging services field.
      • Proven success as a member of an executive team in a large complex agency.
      • Knowledge of NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA) Performance Standards and experienced in overseeing and managing DFTA and other governmental city and state agency contracts.
      • Experience in planning, leading, and managing multiple programs and initiatives.
      • Track record of success in, and understanding of, the management of financial processes pertaining to government, foundation and/or corporate grants and contracts.
      • Strong fiscal acumen in developing and monitoring budgets.
      • Knowledge of property management helpful.
      • Passionate about R.A.I.N.'s mission and impact.
      • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
      • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) capacity preferred
