ProductOverviewThe Vice President, Network Strategy and Product
will lead a team driving product strategy, roadmap and execution of
the future of Mastercard's global card payments network. The
network is the company's core strategic asset, directly driving
over $8 billion in revenue and providing the platform for our other
key services.The successful candidate will take on product
management responsibility for our core authorization capabilities.
This will include several in-flight efforts to address known
customer challenges and product requests. But it will also require
the development of a whole-product strategy - articulating the
value we provide, shaping and prioritizing enhancements into a
roadmap, and driving execution. This will mean solving for current
challenges and taking inbound auth product requests, and also
identifying top enhancements overall - to solve for market
needs/use cases through improvements or new offerings. The mandate
is to ensure the competitiveness of our card network versus
alternatives, for existing and new use cases; and to pursue
commercial opportunities and optimization. Examples of current
efforts related to auth's primary functions include matching of
linked auth requests clearing records, double posting to cardholder
accounts, clearing without authorization, aligning approval
duration with transaction use cases. Another existing focus area is
resilience: improving the reliability and quality of our
acquirer-side fallback processing, to ensure that Mastercard meets
our promise to consumers, merchants, customers and regulators to
ensure the flow of commerce. The role Develop a product strategy
and roadmap, and lead a team of product managers leading
initiatives related to authorization Partner with regional,
customer, technical, C&I, Franchise and legal teams, and gather
direct customer feedback, to understand needs, shape proposals and
drive execution Define and drive technical platform enhancements to
address market needs Identify and pursue new product and pricing
opportunities Define and drive new offerings from concept to
market, following the Studio product development and go to market
process, in partnership with regional product leads and market
teams Propose and drive changes to Mastercard Franchise or other
rules or programs to drive outcomes beneficial to the ecosystem,
including cardholders, merchants and financial institution
customers Present overviews of your approach, proposals and
progress to key decisionmakers and Product leadership Maintain an
independent mindset and view of the facts, develop a strong view of
the best available approaches, make a compelling case and push hard
for the right outcome - and stay flexible and pragmatic in your
approach to getting things doneThe candidate Prior experience in
payments and familiarity with authorization processes is required
Relevant technical product management experience - may include
strategy, development, management, commercialization, scaling
Experience managing a team Strategic thinking, analytical and
problem-solving skills Superior communications, visual and verbal
presentation, and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work with
ambiguity and manage multiple complex projects Ability to interact
and build relationships with all levels of leadership across the
organization and with internal and external clients; ability to
