Job Description:
Responsibilities:


  • Determine financial aid eligibility and award students aid in accordance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations
  • Responsible for the management of the federal student loan portfolio include loan certification, import/export of data, disbursement, and reconciliation
  • Manage Default Aversion Program
  • Responsible for NYS Scholarships & Grants processing including awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation
  • Develops, documents, and supports standardized and/or customized financial aid reports from the college's information database
  • Works closely with Associate Director to review Argos reports in order to manage workload assignments and perform quality assurance.
  • Assist in creating a service-oriented environment committed to supporting student educational goals by providing high quality financial aid counseling and support, and providing a comprehensive approach to financial aid and student accounts advisements
  • Counsel students and parents on all aspects of aid programs and financing options
  • Test and implement technologies to support and enhance office
  • Attend/host workshops and open house events for prospective and accepted students
  • Other duties and projects as required

    Weekend and evening hours requiredRequirements:

    • Bachelors' degree
    • At least 4 years experience working with federal financial aid programs and regulations
    • Experience in the area of Student Financial Services
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of Banner, Argos, & SUNY SICAS preferred
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse dynamic team of professionals
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to meet deadlines

        Additional Information:
        Classification/Salary Range: The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is a United University Professions (UUP) position. The anticipated salary range for the position is $65,000 - $75,000 annually, with an outstanding benefits package (for more information please visit ).

        Special Notes: This is a full-time, calendar year appointment UUP Position. Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
