BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Program Director for the WFD
Program
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide oversight and supervision to all aspects of the Cross
Bronx Preservation Program; including working out of both site
locations weekly
- Employ strategies to facilitate a collaborative environment for
both targeted developments of Baychester and Murphy Houses
- Provide direct services to clients, including intake,
engagement, assessment, service plan development, referral,
advocacy, counseling, follow-up, etc.
- Coordinate client service needs including support services,
internally and externally as needed (i.e., employment, vocational
training, access to benefits, eviction prevention, mental health,
education, etc.)
- Maintain familiarity and establish new resources essential to
the residents and the program
- Plan, organize and implement community building events for
residents of Baychester and Murphy Houses
- Track all program targets to ensure engagement and attainment
of program outcomes
- Respond to funder requests on a timely basis
- Attend program related meetings (i.e., tenant association,
community board, funder, etc.)
- Develop plans for strategically implementing program
objectives
- Manage program administrative requirements (i.e., Workscope
development, reports) to meet requests from funder and
employer
- Work collaboratively with all program partners, subcontractors,
building management, funder, etc.
- Conduct regular case conferences with clients and service
providers as required
- Complete program reports on a monthly basis, or more frequently
as required
- Report to, and meet with, supervisor on a monthly basis
- Working knowledge of MS office and program management software
(i.e., Salesforce)
- Conduct home visits and other field work, as required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant experience in program
management; advanced degree in the humanities or a combination of
education and work experience providing comparable knowledge and
skills desirable.
- Strong abilities in planning and running programs. Strong
abilities in organization, supervision, and administration,
- Must be able to work both collaboratively and
independently.
- Excellent writing skills and oral skills required
- Effective leadership, time management and organizational skills
required
- Ability to represent the program effectively to a broad range
of individuals and stake holders
- An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated interest in the Bronx community and commitment to
BronxWorks and Workforce Development mission.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required.
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct
home visits and/or fieldwork.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its
adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable
amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement
weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
