Job Description:

A health services network in Westchester County is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their staff as their new Director of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry. In this role, the Director of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry will be responsible for managing and supervising the assigned patient care areas on a 24 hour basis ensuring the effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative budgets and clinical policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry will:

• Manage, supervise and coordinate delivery of patient care for assigned patient care areas on a 24 hour basis
• Staff the units in accordance with NYS mandated staffing plan and in accordance with departmental budget
• Actively manage bed flow and telemetry availability for optimal throughput and patient care
• Perform nursing supervision and bed management house wide when scheduled
• Handle the requisition, care and maintenance of unit inventory, equipment and supplies
• Actively round on and interact with patients and families to ensure that expectations for an optimal patient experience are met
• Maintain clinical competencies for assigned clinical area
• Assess, coach and evaluate staff level of practice
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs that foster continued clinical development
• Maintain required unit records, reports and statistics for administrative purposes
• Perform other duties, as neededQualifications:
  • 3+ years of Acute Care Nursing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Familiarity with Healthcare Clinical Operations and processes in an Acute Care Hospital setting
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organizedDesired Skills:
    • Master's Degree in Nursing
    • Experience in a Leadership role
