ATI is currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern to join our facility located in East Hartford, CT. The primary purpose of this job is to assist in the organization's facility wide environmental, health and safety process(es) in compliance with ATI, OSHA, and EHS regulations.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)

• 
  
• Promote and ensure the health and safety of employees through responsive and proactive safety programs, protecting employees from incidents and environmental hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations; establishes target areas and long-range accident prevention and cost control objectives
  
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and Job Safety Analyses
  
• Participate in the sites Safety Steering Committee
  
• Special assignments or projects relating to EHS Review and propose updates and/or changes to current safety programs
  
• Conduct routine EHS inspections across the site in collaboration with all teams.
  
• Assist with investigation of incidents to determine cause and preventative measures; Prepare necessary reports and documentation
  
• Inspect work areas and machinery for compliance with OSHA and all regulations, recommend best practices to improve processes.
  
• Assist in the development and maintenance of EHS orientation programs; Assist in training staff in EHS awareness and compliance requirements
  
• Schedule all EHS and compliance training activities for the facility; Conduct training as required
  
• Maintain all EHS and compliance records for employees within the facility
  
• Ensures the availability, reliability, and readiness of safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing (PPE) and devices, and first aid supplies
  
• Keeps apprised of developments in federal and state EHS regulations likely to affect the company.
  Basic Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree or higher education
    
    Preferred

    • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
