Schedule 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM Job Description The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and is accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities - Direct and guide patient/family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel. - Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical conditions with diagnostic study results and symptomatology. - Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses. - Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with regulations. - Understand and comply with EMTALA regulations and reporting requirements for abuse. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure - Current and valid state RN License. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate upon hire and maintain current. - Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current. - Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certificate and/or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. - Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire. - Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; Emergency Room experience preferred. - Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
