Job Description Job Description Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Manager - General Operating Room Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for unit operations and staff performance. The ideal candidate will support nursing leadership in developing strategic goals aligned with our organizational mission, vision, and values, ensuring a healing environment that promotes patient and family-centered care. Responsibilities Provide leadership and accountability for unit operations and staff performance around the clock. Support nursing leadership in developing strategic goals aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values. Communicate objectives clearly and build consensus to guide the team toward achieving departmental goals. Foster a healing environment that promotes patient and family-centered care. Create a professional workplace that encourages respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal outcomes. Champion evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practices. Manage staffing needs and collaborate with HR on recruitment and requirements. Offer guidance and direction to team members and supervisors. Oversee performance evaluations, promotions, compensation decisions, and corrective actions. Serve as a role model for clinical, educational, and leadership standards. Assist team members with career development planning. Educate staff on new and existing departmental procedures and systems, including technology and fiscal responsibilities. Manage the unit’s budget, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective actions for variances. Track and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to established care delivery models and professional practice standards. Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies. Demonstrate current clinical knowledge relevant to the patient population served. Stay informed on healthcare legislation, standards of practice, and population health trends. Identify and lead initiatives to improve operations using evidence-based strategies. Perform related duties as required to support unit and organizational objectives. Essential Skills Active Registered Nurse license in New York State. 6–8 years of General Operating Room/Abdominal Transplant/Robotics nursing experience. 2–5 years in a leadership or management role. Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred. CNOR certification preferred. Relevant specialty certifications as applicable. Experience working in a non-union based position. Cardiac surgery, thoracic transplant, and robotics experience. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Great Neck Plaza, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
