Job Description:
Stony Brook University is the premier academic medical center in
Suffolk County, New York. The University Hospital offers the
community state-of-the-art care including for patients presenting
with acute psychiatric problems. Services include the only Suffolk
County Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). The
Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for psychaitric
evaluation and management of patients in the CPEP/ED of University
Hospital. The Clinical Assistant Professor will also be responsible
for teaching and supervision of medical students and residents.
Shifts totaling hours per week which will consist of (4) 10-hour
afternoon/evening shifts from 1pm-11pm and includes one weekend
shift per week. Cross-coverage as necessary. Salary starting at
$308,000 / year plus eligibility for a production incentive bonus.

MD/DO (or foreign equivalent). New York State license, or
eligibility. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Adult
Psychiatry. Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience with
Psychiatric patients in a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency
Program or other Psychiatric Emergency Setting. Track record in
teaching experience in Emergency psychiatry. Training in Child
