Job Details Assignment Type: Locum tenens / travel PA (Physician Assistant) Location: University City, Philadelphia, PA (19104) Setting: 12-bed Neuro ICU & Neuro Floor (neurocritical care / neurosurgery) Start Date: June 8, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shifts: 3 shifts per week, 13-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends; 1–2 weekend shifts/month) Shift Times: 5:30 AM – 6:30 PM or 5:30 PM – 6:30 AM Self-scheduling available Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,480 – $4,130 (competitive travel PA pay) EMR: Epic Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Physician Assistant license (PA-C) in the U.S.; state-specific license per facility requirements Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; neuro ICU, trauma, or neurosurgery experience preferred Experience with central and arterial line placements preferred (not required) Comfortable managing high-acuity neurocritical care and neurosurgical patients Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team of APPs, fellows, and attendings Strong documentation skills using Epic EMR Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in the neuro ICU and neuro floor settings (neurocritical care / neurosurgery) Manage an average ICU census of ~6 patients and up to 12–14 patients on the neuro floor (no consult service coverage required) Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement interventions for neurocritical patients Participate in procedures such as central and arterial line placements when credentialed (preferred) Collaborate closely with neurocritical care fellows, neurosurgery attendings, residents, and other APPs Document care and orders in Epic EMR and support continuity during shift handoffs Engage in a supportive, team-based APP-driven practice with 24/7 intern coverage Why Join This Locum Tenens PA Opportunity Work in a high-acuity neuro ICU at a leading medical center in Philadelphia (excellent locum tenens PA job for neuro/ICU APPs) Competitive weekly pay and flexible self-scheduling for travel PA positions Collaborative APP-driven environment with strong educational and clinical support Live and work in University City — vibrant dining, parks, museums, and easy city access Apply now for this locum tenens Physician Assistant (PA-C) role in neurocritical care / neurosurgery in Philadelphia, PA.
