We have an opportunity for you to join our Catering Department at our Smithtown Store as a PT Catering Clerk/Driver. Our gourmet store is busy taking orders, preparing orders and delivering orders. Come join our gourmet foods family and be part of our team! The Catering Clerk part of this position has core scheduling hours from 7am-7pm (Ex. of working hours 12pm-7pm or 3pm-7pm, etc). (CDL is not required). Our Company catering van/car will be used for this position. Summary The Catering Clerk-Catering Driver is responsible for providing exemplary customer service while maintaining the safety of customers and team members. The Catering Clerk will exceed customer needs and expectations by providing efficient, accurate and pleasant check-out service and catering shopping assistance. As Catering Driver, the individual will be responsible for delivering and setting up the worlds best gourmet food quickly and safely from our kitchens to client's homes or offices. The Catering Driver must operate our vehicle according to all local, state, and federal regulations and maintain a vehicle in a manner capable of carrying large quantities of food. Responsibilities: Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe the company uniform policy Arrive on time and in uniform for all scheduled shifts Clock in and out for each scheduled shift and shift break Demonstrate the core values of Uncle Giuseppes and observe all Loss Prevention and Safety policies Pack items pertaining to orders and get then ready for delivery, ensuring that all items are inside each order. This includes any utensils, table clothes, service spoons, condiments, etc. Will prepare foods for catering or deli during down times of catering Maintain a clean and neat workstation Taking orders from customers either in person or over the phones ensuring the right amount of food is ordered Will be responsible for processing customer online orders, packing orders and ensuring payments are received Setting up in store demos. Assist in maintaining back-room efficiency by unloading/loading catering related deliveries and orders Provide exemplary customer service and greet guests in a friendly manner Properly handle products and equipment in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines Prepare foods for catering or deli when not making deliveries Other duties and functions as assigned Requirements: Must be at least 19 years of age or older HS Degree or equivalent 2+ years of driving experience in addition to a minimum of one (1) year Delivery Driver experience Prior catering experience working in a fast paced environment is preferred Ability to work in varying temperatures Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way Ability to work cooperatively with others Ability to operate all equipment customarily used by the Food Service Department and other equipment as may be required Must be able to speak, read and communicate in the English language Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies Additional Skills and Qualifications: Outgoing and friendly Excellent communication and customer service skills Can work within a team or on their own Must be extremely detail orientated Must have a valid drivers license for at least 3 years and a clean driving record Takes pride in their work and is always willing to learn Must be able to lift safely 30lbs and up to 50lbs Must be able to stand while walking for entire shift Physical Requirements Continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced work environment; Contact to various food allergens throughout the store; Regular motions such as standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, lifting and reaching; Standing and walking for up to 8 hours at a time; Working in an environment with fluctuating temperatures; We offer an exciting benefits package to all employees!
