established a world-class international privacy program and is
currently adding talent to its Global Privacy & Data Protection
team.The Senior Managing Counsel, Privacy & Data Protection,
Operations & Technologies (O&T), will provide strategic legal
advice and support to embed privacy requirements and data controls
into the design of our evolving network, technologies and data
platforms. The position will report into the SVP, Global Privacy
and Data Protection. This position will be based preferably in the
US (Purchase or St Louis). The ideal candidate will have the
ability to think and act both strategically and tactically with
respect to the needs of our operations and technology (O&T)
organization, and their objectives while also having deep
experience in and understanding of the application and potential
evolution of law in the context of new technologies. Role Provide
strategic advice to senior O&T executives on new privacy and
data laws/trends, including on cloud computing, cybersecurity,
cross-border data transfer restrictions and requirements Monitor
and analyse emerging privacy and data laws and prepare regular
executive updates identifying potential impacts for Mastercard's
network, technologies, and platforms Lead efforts to implement
Privacy by Design across O&T, to incorporate robust privacy and
data controls into the network, technologies and products to ensure
compliance with legal requirements Engage with key policymakers and
stakeholders on new privacy and data-related laws that may impact
Mastercard's use of technology Negotiate complex contract
negotiations from a data perspective with technology suppliers and
cloud service providers Support initiatives including cloud
computing, and new technology development and implementation
Support incident management and response efforts Educate technical
teams on privacy and data protection requirements, and raise
awareness of developments in the data regulatory landscapeAll About
You Admitted as a lawyer in relevant jurisdiction, engineering
background a plus. Demonstrated interest in privacy and/or
corporate security (completion of IAPP courses, CIPM/CIPT/CISSP
certifications. Any other additional post-graduate qualifications
or certifications considered an asset Expertise in and track record
dealing with global privacy and data regulatory frameworks, in
particular as related to cloud computing, cybersecurity and data
localization Knowledge and experience in advising on cloud
computing, privacy enhancing technology, and cybersecurity
Excellent leadership skills Keen sense of urgency with a
results-driven orientation and excellent organizational skills.
Strong analytic capabilities, and written and oral communication
skills. Attention to detail is a must. Exceptional interpersonal
skills with proven experience in relationship building and
partnering. Must work well in both team and individual settings A
risk-based mindset able to succinctly identify critical areas of
concern and construct legally-compliant, commercially-viable
solutions Experienced with financial services industry and emerging
payment technologies Exposure to C-suites in global organisations
and ability to motivate and drive internal and external
stakeholders globally to achieve major organizational goalsCOVID-19
