This position is responsible for the design, maintenance and
operations of the Telecommunications programs for MMC, MNR, AECOM,
MMV and off site locations. Orchestrates the installation of
network infrastructure, supporting voice and independent data
communications including the installation, configuration,
monitoring and maintenance of PBX voice/voice mail systems
and data related routers and switches. Both core sites and remotes
on a 24 x 7 bases. Coordinate with and support of daily Medical
Services under routine and emergency conditions. Interface with
vendors on procurement and contract negotiations. Supervise and
evaluate telecommunications department staff.
Prepares or reviews time schedule for all department employee
and approve vacations, holiday & personal days. Approves overtime
and recommends vacation replacements.
Planning of annual budgets.
Participate in coordination with architects and engineers on
Telecommunication facility design for current and projected
Monitoring and planning for integration of new technology in the
areas of voice.
Evaluate and recommend appropriate equipment purchases and
service agreements for Telecommunications.
Provide consultation to other prospective Medical Center sites
Prepare probationary forms and periodic performance reports.
Notify and coordinate upgrade, repairs, modification of voice
system, in-house, long range & voice pagers.
Planning and execution of project management of all
Telecommunication implementation of major voice systems.
Management of public access telephones. Provide available data
for update of Medical Center telephone operator directory including
confidential directory with distribution of Medical Center and
yellow pages directory.
Bachelor's degree required with a Master's degree preferred. 10
years experience in voice and data network technology, employee's
supervision and budgeting required. Microsoft Office Suite,
Payroll/Time Keeping System and experience in training managing of
managers of exempt professionals required. Ability to multi task is
Knowledge of basic database administration, digital trunk
interface/primary rate interface network, alternate route selection
(NARS) and Meridian Mail Administration and applications
