Operating out of Bronx County Criminal Court, Bronx Community Solutions (BCS) offers criminal justice programming in the areas of pretrial diversion programming thru regular monitoring and referral services to misdemeanor and non-violent felony defendants whose cases are pending; and alternative to Incarceration programming for non-violent crimes by providing additional sentencing options for non-violent offenders. These programs reduce the reliance on pre-trial detention and short-term jail sentences and offers defendants the assistance they need to avoid further criminal conduct.

Bronx Community Solutions is seeking a Pre-Trial Clinical Coordinator for the Supervised Release Program. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail, providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with bail-eligible felony and misdemeanor charges. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates, and they receive referrals to community-based programming such as job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling.  Reporting to the Clinical Director of Pre-Trial services and working alongside the Pre-Trial Coordinator of Case Management, the Pre-Trial Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day clinical operations of pre-trial services, including providing individual supervision to Senior Social Workers, providing crisis intervention and emergency referrals to participants, and collaborating with other programs and departments at BCS to ensure continuity of services.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide clinical operational support to pre-trial clinical staff;
  • Manage Senior Social Workers by providing clinical supervision;
  • Scheduling and facilitating clinical group supervisions for clinical and non-clinical staff;
  • Assist BCS staff with crisis intervention and de-escalation, as needed; 
  • Provide pre-trial staff with professional development, training opportunities, and management support, as needed;
  • Ensure program coverage for clinician evening & weekend hours and other staff, as needed;
  • Support and assist with case assignment and auditing process for pre-trial staff;
  • Work closely with senior clinical staff to ensure policies and procedures are consistent across the program;
  • Work collaboratively with managerial staff of Pre-Trial services along with other departments to assure continuity of services;
  • Track and monitor program performance and assist to oversee evaluation activities;
  • Assist with community engagement and the implementation of community-based programming options;
  • Coordinate collaboration and communication between operations and clinical staff as needed;
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings;
  • Provide on-call clinical support to evening and weekend clinical and non-clinical staff, on rotation as needed;
  • Assist the Clinical Director with the development and implementation of new policies, programs, initiatives, and/or interventions;
  • Assist with intakes, assessments, and other related tasks, as needed;
  • Provide assistance with individual counseling sessions and voluntary referrals to community-based services, as needed;
  • Conduct outreach to collateral sources to provide supervision and court monitoring, as needed;
  • Attend Bronx Community Solutions events after hours, as needed; and
  • Additional relevant tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will be a licensed mental health professional (LMSW or LMHC required, LCSW preferred) with 3-4 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in the criminal justice field. Supervisory experience required. Must be SIFI certified or eligible. Court-based social work is an incredibly unique and demanding area of practice, and candidates must be open to constructive engagement with differing and, at times, competing perspectives. Preferred candidates will possess experience with the homeless and/or unstably housed population and familiarity with housing programs and related community resources to assist participants facing housing instability, and/or experience with drug /alcohol treatment, mental health services, co-occurring disorders, adolescent development, trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. The candidate will have the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally-competent and culturally-humble manner. The candidate must be a skilled communicator who can work professionally and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, and must be willing and able to work collaboratively with a variety of judges, court personnel, and partner agencies in a high-pressure and fast paced work environment. Excellent organizational and interpersonal, communication and writing skills required. Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred. Candidate must be able to work nights and/or weekends. 

Compensation:  Salary range starts at $66,690 and is commensurate with experience.
