Job Description:

Benefits Supervisor is a strategic role responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of the benefits program, policies and procedures. -Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of strategic plans for HR
  • Administration, financial oversight and communication of employee benefits
  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance the delivery of benefits in a large, unionized organization
  • Assess and price labor union employee benefit proposals
  • Consult and advise management on solutions to issues related to employee benefits
  • Develop communication programs to improve employee understanding of the benefits
  • Participate in market studies to determine the competitiveness of the benefits program
  • Keep up to date on regulations and legislation affecting benefitsSkills:
    • Bachelors degree required-Graduate degree preferred. - -
    • Ability to work with all levels of employees and deliver exceptional customer service
    • Experience delivering employee benefit programs in a large organization
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state legislation/compliance requirements applicable to large employer benefits plans (e.g. ERISA, FMLA)
    • Understanding collective bargaining agreements and insurance contracts
    • Attentive to detail
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
    • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and HRIS preferred - -
