706360 - Echo Technologist - Bronx, NY - 13 Weeks Contract

Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for an Echo Technologist to work onsite in Bronx, NY.

Shift : - -M - F 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM AND 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Primary Duties And Responsibilities:
-
1. - Performs echo study as ordered on adult patients:
- - - - a. Demonstrates knowledge of clinical norms for the following age groups: Teenage and young, middle and geriatric adults. -
- - - - - - - b. Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships with the following age groups: Teenage and young, middle and geriatric adults.
- - - - - - - c. Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in own job category to the following age groups: Teenage and young, middle and geriatric adults.
2. - Prepares studies for interpretation by physician, including accurate calculation of cardiac -structures. - - -
3. - Completes all paper work accurately.
4. - Completes daily log of studies accurately.
5. - Employee understands his/her role in maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only.
6. - Completes work process in computer before end of shift.
7. - Transports patients and/or echo equipment as necessary.
8. - Provides patient and family with information/ instructions regarding procedure, evaluating barriers to understanding. Assures patient safety and confidentiality while performing exam.
9. - Prepares patient for exam.
10. Evaluates and initiates equipment service/repair.
11. Evaluates and initiates inventory and ordering of supplies.
12. May cover for Ultrasound Sonographer as needed if qualified.
13. Maintains safe working and patient environment.
14. Utilizes effective communication and problem solving skill in all interactions.
15. Assists in training and orientation of new employees.
16. Participates in hospital performance improvement activities as assigned.
17. Participates in department meetings, inservice education, and policy/procedure review.
18. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Medical Center and department Values of Service, Excellence, knowledge, Stability and Community.
19. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• High school graduate.
  
• Echocardiography graduate with RDMS or RDMS eligible.
  
• Current BLS certification.
  
• One year experience in adult echocardiography as an Echo Technician in an office or hospital setting.
