The Works Plus Program offers career development and job readiness
training to young adults between 18-30 and 6 months of follow-up
services to support each person's interest and career
exploration/development.
We seek a full-time Senior Career Coach to join our Young Adults
Department Team, the Works Plus Program. The Senior Career Coach
will serve as the primary resource for participants' transition
into the workforce, ensuring that participants succeed in their
efforts. This position assists participants by conducting
recruitment and intake, facilitating job readiness training
workshops, apprenticeship, internship, and job placement, and
providing case management in the pre and post-employment phases of
service provision. This position will report to the Youth Services
Program Coordinator.
The work schedule for this position is based on program needs, with
room for flexibility. This is an in-person position, Monday to
Friday.
Requirements:*Responsibilities*
* Screen potential participants for program enrollment and orient
participants to the program, describe program objectives.
* Conduct initial intake interviews and assessments. Utilize
assessment tools to identify support service needs and makes
immediate referrals
* Provide participants with an initial service plan of action and
ensure the delivery of comprehensive support services.
* Track and monitor participant progress. Conduct monthly case
management sessions. Meet with participants to address issues,
challenges, and successes to strengthen participants' capacity for
long-term self-sufficiency.
* Facilitate workshops on job readiness training, financial
literacy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and career exploration for
the program's 6-week cohorts
* Maintain confidential case records for all participants.
* Build social awareness through group facilitation
* Plan and implement community benefit projects
* The primary resource for apprenticeship and internship placements
for participants to succeed in their careers.
* Participate in ongoing education and professional development
through courses, seminars, and other in-service training in
vocational training and services, cultural diversity training, and
supportive counseling.
* Participate in staff meetings.
* Maintain contact and create partnerships with outside agencies to
refer or obtain additional participant services.
* Data entry into Salesforce and DOP Connect for all participant
engagements & achievements
* Collaborate with job development staff to maximize service
delivery
* Provide monthly service outcomes information and monthly
reporting documentation to the program coordinator and program
manager for reporting purposes as required by funding agencies.
* Perform other duties as requested by managerial staff and other
duties as required.
*Education*
* Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or Public
Administration; in lieu of a degree, two additional years of
experience required
*Experience*
* Two years of data entry experience required
* Two years of experience working with young adults ages 16-30
required
* Two years of case management experience required
* Two years of workforce development experience
* Two years of experience with group facilitation of Job Readiness
Training curriculum required
* Two years of experience providing direct services to individuals
with barriers to employment required
*Related Knowledge and Skills*
* An understanding of the criminal legal system is required
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft and Google Suite
* Effective writing and communication skills
* Knowledge of the salesforce database system preferred
* Strong ability to make connections to educational and vocational
opportunities & community organizations
