Agency Overview: The Safe Center LI, Inc. (TSCLI) is the leading provider of services to victims of interpersonal violence in Nassau County. The agency provides comprehensive services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, and elder abuse. The Safe Center is a thought leader that seeks to develop and implement innovative interventions to meet the multifaceted needs of victims and survivors.SUMMARY: The Domestic Violence Advocate functions as part of a Crisis Center team that is focused on the safety and well-being of victims of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
---Work primarily with domestic violence victims
---Make outreach calls to victims in response to police reports
---Respond to domestic violence and rape/sexual assault hotlines
---Conduct intake interviews
---Assess client needs and perform required intervention, including crisis intervention, advocacy, referral, and case management servicesQUALIFICATIONS:
---BA in related field (extensive relevant experience without a B.A. will be considered)
---Domestic violence and/or human services experience strongly preferred
---English/Spanish verbal and written fluency preferredHOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
---Schedule includes day and evening hours- this is not a remote position, it is an onsite only position
